Food Services
Shelter Meals
Hot meals are served each day of the year free of charge.

Lunch is served Monday - Saturday at 12:00 noon and dinner at 6:00 pm.
​
Sunday lunch is served at 1:00 pm and dinner at 6:00 pm.
​
All are welcome; however, all are expected to help with clean up (if able).
Lodgers at the Good Shepherd Mission have breakfast at 7:00 am and must clear the building by 7:30 am to look for a job make progress on their case management goals.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is open
Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 11:45 am and the last Thursday of each month from 5 pm - 6pm.
We are closed national holidays and from Christmas Eve through New Years Day.

Below are the steps to receive services from us:
1) One must have a government photo ID with a Walker County address OR a Social Security card AND a Walker County utility bill with their name on it.
2) One must apply for SNAP (food stamps) first and show evidence of this.
3) After one can show proof of SNAP determination (yes or no letter), one can fill out our application at the Mission located at 1005 MLK Dr, Huntsville, TX 77320.
4) One must also present Social Security cards OR birth certificates OR government IDs for all dependents under their care.
5) One may be asked for additional information after the review of their application.​​
