From the East:

From the Albuquerque airport, take I-25 North to I-40 West to Gallup


Exit I-40 in Gallup at exit 20 (US 491 to Shiprock)


About 7 miles north Hwy 264 splits off to the left (west) to Window Rock


Travel about 16 miles to the Arizona border


At the first light after entering Arizona, turn right on Hwy N12 (Chevron station on corner)


Drive another 7 miles north, then you will come to a traffic light (Conoco station on the right)


Go straight through that light (even though Hwy N12 turns right)


Go 0.7 miles and take a right turn in front of the Good Shepherd sign and US Post Office. There is no street sign. The stone pillars of the Mission are straight ahead.




From the West:


Follow I 40 east to AZ exit 357 (highway 12)


Go North 29 miles to a stop light at highway 264


Go straight through that light (even though 12 turns) north for about 7 miles. The road now becomes Highway 112.


At the first stop sign you will see GS Church ahead on your right.


Turn right and then take the next left at the Good Shepherd welcome sign and US Post Office. There is no street sign. The stone pillars of the Mission are straight ahead.




From the North:


Follow US 491 south (formerly US 666).


Turn right at Sheep Springs (between mile markers 48 & 47).


Go 20 miles through Narbona Pass, past Crystal until the road T's at Highway 12.


Turn left and go about 20 miles (through Navajo, NM).


As you come to Fort Defiance, you will pass the Fort Defiance Indian Hospital on your right.


At the third light after the hospital (Conoco station on your right) turn right.


Go 0.7 miles and take a right turn in front of the Good Shepherd sign and US Post Office. There is no street sign. The stone pillars of the Mission are straight ahead.
